New to ripariums,Have questions!!

I have been lurking around here for a long time and have become interested in starting a riparium. I have a few questions and some concerns though.
Since my house has a bit of a chill to it, can I still have one without having a closed top to retain humidity?
Does the lighting have to be suspended because I can't really find a space to suspend a light from?

You could make a "high-humidity" riparium with a lowered water level and just keep all the plants inside. There are some really cool plants you can grow that way (collector crypts, Anubias, smaller Java fern, Lagenandra).

If you want to grow the plants out the top there are many good choices that will do just fine with average household humidities. There are a few different ways that you might be able to hang or mount a light. What kind of tank are you using?

I'm not sure about the humidity, but I had a problem with the lighting also. I ended up buying a hanging light fixture that mounts to the back of the stand. It was a little pricey($100), but worth it in the long run. The hanging kit allows me to raise or lower the light which is a nice feature. None of the plants I have require much humidity so a lid isn't needed for me. Hope that helps a little.

Ok, I will most likely use two clip on lights and as for the tank size, I'm not sure, maybe a ten, twenty long, or heck maybe even try out a 2.5!
