My new orchid case.

I just finished my orchid case today, it's the first case I have built using silicone instead of copper foil. There are two fans on top of it one blows air out ( the left) and the other blows air in ( on the right ), the in fan has a ducked to blow the cool air down to the bottom.

Nice case.

Since I'm ignorant to the ways of growing orchids...

What would copper foil be used for?

The one in the center is a Bulbophyllum, rufilabrum and the one on the right is a Epidendrum, porpax the left one is dead, The plants siting on the bottom are pitch plant clones.
Yes I can fit a lot more in there, the case is 20"H x 20"W x 10"D.

The light is hardware store heat lamp I spray painted, the light bulb is a Repti Glo 5.0 UVB 26W CPF. The control panel is made out of a scrap piece of vinyl gutter, I put four 110V outlets in top so every thing runs from just one cord. The fans are out of a old PC and are controlled individually on there own switches, the in fan also has a speed control and I plan to ad a ice tray for better cooling.

The other cases I made use copper foil on the edge of the glass and then you solder it together.

you should ask him for the hybrid or species names. and add them to the tag. they are important to not loose. especially if you end up getting more into orchids
