Looks like fungus gnats to me, but to positively ID i'd have to get a closer look. Pyrethrum based products seem to work the best, and there's no way you can 'starve' them out by keeping it open air and not watering, as it would kill your little flytrap. Fungus gnats aren't exactly harmful to plants, just annoying to you. if you let them out, they can colonize other potted plants and any wet soil. The eggs can last for weeks in dry soil, and then hatch as soon as you water them. Sticky traps could also work, or you could simply repot him in sterile soil and cross your fingers. Good luck!
