newt questions

I was looking at getting a fire belly newt. I have read where they release toxins in the water.

Would these toxins be strong enough to mess with my septic tank or well?

Would these toxins keep me from using this equipment for something else later?

can I use sand in the water or are large stones good or a combination? will use a reptile mix on the land part.

Will they eat guppy fry?

I also want to make a mountain/volcano thing that can be the land in the center and be removable. Thought about using great stuff pond and stone over egg crate to make sort of a papier mache thingy. The pump will be inside the mountain or right behind it.

Does anyone have any experience working with this foam making land or backgrounds?
can I shape it shortly after sprayed or do I have to wait till it dries and carve it?
what kind of paint and sealers do I need?
Can I stick a solo cup in the foam while its wet to make impressions for flower pots?
will it stick to wax paper?

thanks I asked these questions at the vivarium forum and no one will answer.

I've never had a problem with toxicity with my newts. I keep one in a heavily planted tank.

They're pretty pokey - i'd be suprised if one would eat a fry..

think about a lid if the waterline is near the top - one of my newts can spiderman up the glass about 5 inches.

I have Fire Bellied Toads (can't be mixed with newts) but I haven't seen anything wrong with my guppies in my paludarium.
