Polkadot Plant propogating and converting to hydroponic
I took a cutting from a bolting plant back in Nov 2018. Initially I thought it wouldn't do well since it's being lit by a single very old 24" T8 bulb that is part of my cubicle cabinets.
Nov 11 - Planted 3 cuttings into rockwool and tank water
Dec 5 - Flowering, the cuttings I took were from a bolting plant, which continued with it's original course and I had to try to pinch the buds, along with remove dying leaves so it looks much smaller than it did at the start.
Feb 5 - Signs of it doing better, the new leaves are developing the characteristic polka dots. A bit of a surprise as I didn't think there was going to be enough light for this plant with just a very old T8.
May 16 - So the plant is now doing well. All of the leaves it had when I started died and fell off, leaving the plant seemingly leggy. It appears with the significant change in conditions the plant did the same as many aquatic plants, shed old leaves and grow new ones that are better adapted to new parameters. It grows well with less light than I expected.
