How do you trim an emersed carpet?

Does anyone have a riparium/terrarium/vivarium with carpet plants like DHG or HC growing emersed? If so, how do you trim the carpet? You can't just net out the trimmings like with a submersed tank. Thanks!

Ah so like blow all the trimmings into a corner and then pinch them out or something? Pretty good idea. Thanks.
