Need Help With Vivarium

Hey everyone,
I'm going to set up a Vivarium and I had a few question about live stock and decorating the tank!

Starting with live stock,
I want to do both fish and amphibian and reptile.
I'm looking at some very small simple fish.
I want either a Chemeleon or tree frog. Could this work?

Moving on to the decoration for the tank. I'll insert a picture of what I'm looking at. My question is how do you create those trees, and what do you use?

The water will be around 10 inches high.
Do you have any suggestions of people who could make those backgrounds or a place I could order them?

Background would be foam, i'm building something similar in a little 10 gallon. Using foam from Home Depot, then cover it in bark and coco fiber. I might start a thread on this build.

The tank in the picture above is not your run of the mill foam + coco fiber setup. A professional artist sculpted that tree and then made a cast of it in resin. It's a lot of work. If you want something similar, your best bet is probably to just find the real thing: go out in the woods and get yourself some tree parts.

The herp community will discourage mixing species, for good reason: it's very difficult to best meet the demands of a variety of species well. The few folks on here who are doing it well usually have large setups with similarly large budgets. That said, if your faux tree has branches down into the water so that a frog could crawl out then I think you can mix tree frogs and fish. I don't recommend a chameleon, the high humidity that the frogs require is likely to cause it respiratory issues.

If you haven't spent time on Dendroboard yet, time to head over--their Parts & Construction section of the forum is very useful for first-time viv builders. Most of the viv/pal/riparium folks on here can be found over there as well, plus a wealth of herp-specific knowledge.
