Lighting

What is a good light for a nicely moderate to heavily planted vivarium. Im looking to set up something on the smaller side with maybe some frogs and live plants. A good substrate as well?

lighting depends on height on enclosure, I've read botanical mix is good for vivs when I looked into them but never set one up.

Due to photobuckets new bs cost for use of images on forums I have deleted all photobucket accounts. I apologize if you enjoyed or found my photos helpful.

Not sure what kind of budget you have for lighting but I really like Nano Box Reef's lights. They mainly cater to the reef folks but all models can be fitted with planted tank version leds. They also have a cheaper model called the Beam that is not on the website yet. You can check it out here: Nano Box Reef BEAM Series - Nano Box Reef - Nano-Reef.com Forums
There are soooo many options out there that can do the job. This is just one I really like. Good luck. I Look forward to seeing what you do with the riparium.

I'm still really undecided on what my next project(s) are going to be. I really only have the room for 2 10 gallon size tanks, unless I built a rack in the basement. So i'm kinda limited on the space. I currently have one empty 10 gallon, but Petco currently has their dollar per gallon sale going on for another week. I'm thinking I will use the 10 gallon for a vivarium/terrarium/riparium type thing. Then I might also get a little Fluval Spec or something to plant up nice, and maybe some shrimp. Right now I'm thinking for the 10 that I will have like 60% water, 40% land planted heavily with a couple frogs. Those ideas could change though. If anyone has any ideas feel free to let me know. I'm just trying to figure this stuff out.
