Lighting Qustion/Help :)

Main Tank 125 Gallon with 10 Gallon enclosure.
Continued Planning:

So these are the bulbs I plan to use in the cheap/easy to obtain shop lights in my DIY light hood:

2 - Coralife T12 Nutri Grow Plant 40W 48 Inch --- on 30 minutes later
2 - Flora Sun T12 Maximum Plant Growth 48 Inch --- on 30 minutes earlier
1 - GE T12 Sunshine 40-Watt Fluorescent 48" Bulb --- on 30 minutes earlier
1 - GE Daylight 40-Watt T12 Fluorescent 48" Bulb --- on 30 minutes later
Or somethig like this ...
These will be paired on timers to allow for a sunrise and sun set and this period will change with the season naturally. So that the longest photo period will be 14 hours during the lonest days of the summer months and 10 hours during the shortest days of the winter months.

Any comments are eagerly welcome.

Does this need to be changed???

I quit!

im not a huge fan of the GE bulbs... i prefer the zoomed, they are better in price and spectrum... the coralife is pricey too, but if you got that kinda scratch layin around go for it...

I have never had a "hightech" terrarium, but I think that would be fine! If it doesn't work, you could adjust the amount of lighting.

Beyond these statements ... can you be more specific? Details of what you mean and links to products would be real nice.

Seeing how if haven't done anything with lighting yet and am only in the planning stage changes are as simple as a sroke of a pencil.

Those bulbs are fine for aquarium use, as long as you have 2-3 over the tank.

Do ya think that the coil lights would have enough color spectrum? I plan to build a hood in any case. I am just trying to work out the lighting that would work for both typs of plants in one fixture.

I guess I need to work up a reflected drawing for the light hood I am planing.

And your not a moron...
