Hello I am a newbie. I have a 20 gallon tank . I need help to identify this algae, and to see if anybody can suggest how to get rid of it any help will be great thank you

You need to find and stop the cause . Lots of threads on here . You can spot treat with Excell or hydrogen peroxide . On gravel like that I would just pull that piece of gravel and soak in peroxide for a few minutes and rinse well or just toss it . .

Maybe add a plant there? In my experience plants easily out-compete BBA.

Thank you both of you, this weekend i will try to pull as much gravel with the BBA and put a plant or 2 in the tank

so the question is how do i find the cause of this.

Cause is often attributed to low CO2 levels. Perhaps adding an airstone could keep both O2 and CO2 levels a bit higher. I have never found a living thing that eats it or any natural control.

i do not have an air stone but i have 2 divers the blow bubbles and one corner filter that have air (see links bellow) would that work
