Algae/cyano

Tank was neglected for a bit, the sand is getting covered by some cyano/fuzz algae and it's impossible to plant dhg, as it takes it over. Was thinking of getting a brine shrimp net and getting all the affected sand and putting it in a tub of h2o2? Any better ideas? Also connected UV sterilizer again, and cleaned out the filter.

If its cyanobacteria I've had good luck using Chemiclean to get rid of it-its for salt water cyano but works great in freshwater. Safe for fish, plants, beneficial bacteria, I think its shrimp safe but have not used in a shrimp tank myself yet. I had a lot of cyanobacteria so did about 3 treatments. Yours isn't that bad yet, 1 round of this would probably do the job.

Thanks for the response, I have Ultralife bga remover, I've used it before. Was wondering if I can clear it without using chems. I feel like it's not bad enough to use chems.
