My only concern with CPD's, is through experience, that they do best in larger groups, and that the bigger the tank, the better.
I had mine in a 5.5 planted (they were the only inhabitants) tank for quarantining and they were super skittish, like redics. Hiding in the very back the whole time behind the wall of vals and mass of java fern. Once they were moved to the 10gl they were alot better in behaviour and were more adventurous and brave (you could actually look into the tank and see them without having to quietly sneak up and searching through plants for them).
That being said, you have to remember that 5.5gls is the empty volume- adding substrate, plants and hardscape greatly reduce open swimming areas.
I would stick to shrimp and ottos.
