I can't find a good light for my 3 gallon

I know suggestions were for the finnex fugeray or stingray but I live in canada and those aren't available for me

Anything else I can use? I would just use a desk lamp but to be honest I don't like how they look -- I prefer something that would clamp on to the top of my tank. My price range is under $40, any thoughts?

You can order Finnex products on amazon. I am in Canada too, just got a Finnex planted + and a Ray 2 a couple weeks ago.

Buy from amazon.com not amazon.ca, import fee doesn't cost too much.

I'd say don't give up on the desk lamp idea. I found a scuffed up one at a thrift store I liked, gave it a 10 minute paint job, and a $5 daylight spectrum bulb, and had a light that perfectly met my needs for less than $10. There's thousands of desk lamp shapes, I'm sure you can find one you like.

Hi byviolet,
What are your tank dimensions and what are you planning to grow? If you are growing low light plants plants at one end only, I would recommend an IKEA LED as per the link below. My daughter's small tank which has some light coming through the window grows Java moss, Java fern, and water wisteria very well with this set up. There's a desk lamp version on its own stand which is even cheaper at 13$. You could use two of them if your tank is long!

i want to get a nice carpet of glossostigma which I image requires fairly strong light.

I REALLY prefer having a clip on light or just something that isn't a desk lamp haha -- it's just my preference. Was hoping to get some canadian's opinions here, but I can just order from somewhere in the US I guess, but the import fees + weak CAD is really tough.

aquatraders has a clip on led for about $30. Its 6 3w leds so it should be able to grow most plants in a tank that small. The same Led is also on ebay from topdog sellers I believe

I recently started using the Fluval plant led for a while now for my 3gal - its quite nice for the tank size. The mounting on its own isint the best though, but otherwise Id look into it.
