Which tank should I set up?

I have a 12" cube and a fluval spec v. Now im only allowed to set up one of them and I cant decide which one. I like the 12" cube because it is rimless but I would have to save up money for a filter, light and heater. I also like the fluval spec v because the filter is built in and I have a heater that will fit in the back. Plus I have a light that will fit on it. The catch is I dont have anything to put it on at the moment. Any suggestions on which one? Which tank do you think would look better?

I think the more important question is what sort of hardscape (if any), flora, and fauna stock you want?
I'm personally biased as I have the 11.8" cube (7.1g) from Aquatop, LOVE IT. I also have never liked 'all in one' tanks, the filtration is usually to strong or cheaply done (noisy) and lights often aren't sufficient for plants I'd like to try. Also if its glass vs plastic or acrylic I'd take glass any day-less prone to scratches. But this is just my opinion.

Due to photobuckets new bs cost for use of images on forums I have deleted all photobucket accounts. I apologize if you enjoyed or found my photos helpful.

You'll have to take into account what your priorities are. I just bought a Spec 5 because I love the idea of not having equipment in the tank. I hate the look of thermometers, intake and returns in a nano tank. I tried the inline thermometer with an eheim external filter and it was just more stuff to work with. I also agree with AquaAurora, the other factor is what kind of scape and fauna do you want. Again, the Spec V wins on this for me because i like the longer profile. So I'd make a list, figure out what your priorities are and see where that takes you.

I plan on just having cherry shrimp. Maybe eventually down the line ill add some celestial pearl danios. Im leaning towards the spec v right now because I want to try some carpeting plants. I have a finnex fugeray 16" that fits in the open area on the lid and Im not sure if that would be enough light for maybe monte carlo or glosso?
