new set-up

So i recently purchased a aqueon evolve 4 (4 gallon with a 9x6 footprint)
Im planning to use this as a shrimp tank so i would like a sand substrate i have done dirt tanks before but i would like this to be more simple since its such a small tank.
Is there any good plants that could do well with a sand only substrate. and maybe occasional dosing of fertz. If anyone has any suggestions as this is my first nano, shrimp and sand tank. Wanted a all new setup type haha
Thanks

The usual moss, java ferns, and anubias will always do well.
