Jalli 4 gallon

http://www.dtpetsupplies.com/catalog...oducts_id=4229

Has anyone used this tank? Im most interested in what you guys think its lighting will do for some live plants. I want to make this into a shrimp tank for cherries. I will get some flourite black for substrate and will have a really simple scape with a manzanita tree covered in some Xmas moss with some small river stones and anubias nana petite I may also have some flour leaf clover or something as well but really just a simple scape. Ill be dosing Excel and a bit of Flourish comp.

Interesting little tank. It looks like it's made of tinted glass in the picture. Is that just a result of the photography or is it really tinted?

Ive looked at the picture closely, the light is the same style as the 13W light that came with my Finnex 4. I am guessing the tank is like a Finnex 4 with rims.

The 13W light I got was kind of weak for my use, HC and hairgrass. So I upgraded to a 2x13 Catalina. I feel 26W is just a bit too much for 4 gallon as I have to crank the CO2 up to 2 bps to keep algae in check. I think 18W may do okay.

Thanks for the comments

I think its just glare from the picture, Im sure its just clear glass. I think that 18watts is gonna be enough, I was just worried about spectrum. Whats the verdict?

My Catalina came with a 50/50 set up. I thought I read it somewhere that the actinic bulb is not useable for growing. And I hated that blue color anyway, so I got rid of it right away.

I got mine from ebay for $65 shipped but the seller told me he is back ordered when I tried to get another one. I think the name is eastaquatics or something like that. You can get one from Finnex.net but they are $5 more than ebay.

From the finnex site? That, I don't know. The pic on the right has no rim in the bottom I think the guy on ebay used the same stock picture too.
