Spec V question

I have my Spec V running since February. I swapped out sponge for an inTank basket and sealed all holes in filter area with silicone. So far all has been fine. I am using OEM pump on high setting and the inTank overflow skimmer. However, lately I have noticed that the amount of water coming into the overflow is minimal and I have cleaned filter area several times. Like I said everything seems fine except water level in tank is consistently lower than it was and seems like water in filter area is more stagnant than originally.

Fluval Spec V, w/ InTank media basket, ViaAqua 50w heater, Current Satellite + lights, SeaChem Eco-Complete substrate

Had the same issue several months ago. Contacted Fluval / Hagen and was given the solution...
Pull out the filter and disassemble the bottom portion. I forgot what the exact piece is called but it is held by a magnet and spins to pump the water. Clean everything with several qtips to get "out the gunk". Should work like new.
