Fluval Edge 6

Hi everyone,

I am really really deadset on making a bedroom planted tank and my girlfriend really enjoys the Fluval Edge 6g. Anyway my question is I am looking to use the Finnex Fugeray Planted+ (either the clamp on or the standard) however I am not sure how it will look with the design of the Edge.

Does anyone have any experience with the edge and upgrading the light? Do you think it will look silly to have the finnex either laying on the glass or take the stock light off and use the clamp on?

*edit sorry about the original post I realized I did not correctly describe what I was looking for

Hi, you may want to look through the "Official Edge Thread" https://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=95967

It's got some great discussion about adding/modding lights, filter, stocking and even de-rimming if you want.

It will look fine if you just put the light on the top glass like chayos did. I had my planted+ like that as well but decided to remove the top glass as I knew pruning plants would be awful reaching through that small hole. It is pretty easy to take the lid off, you just need a razor blade and/or fishing line.

I don't think the clip-on planted+ will have enough spread or light for the Edge. That fixture is only 10" long and around 1" wide so the led's are packed in there. The edge has a pretty big footprint for only 6 gallons. The corners of the edge will be shaded and you would be limited to low light plants only.
