How Much C02

I decided to go with C02. I have Fluval Flora 7.9 nano. I ditched the diffuser that came with it. (C02 kit Fluval Co2 20) I bought a diffuser from the 88 kit. What should my DPM be?

Should I run the C02 all day, or just at night?

A good starting point is one bubble per second and increase from there as needed. Co2 is only useful to your plants when there is light to photosynthesize; so only during the day.

Best,
Nate

I can't get one per second. This is the best I can do.

Is that too much?

You want to see a bubble count of 1 per second in the bubble counter. Not the diffuser

You really need to check ph before starting co2 and shoot for a full point drop in your ph when running co2 that will get you in the right ball park

Do you have any fish in this tank? If not, turn it up

Bump: Do you have any fish in this tank? If not, turn it up

The fastest way to success is patience.

Measure the pH just before the CO2 turns on and record it. Measure the pH just before the CO2 turns off. Slowly increase the CO2 until you get a 1 degree pH swing between the two. At that point you have 30ppm CO2 approximately which can be cross-verified using this kH pH chart. Disregard the legend, it appears that it is backwards. Just aim for 30ppm.
