Starting a new nano tank : help with planting

Hi all,

I'm planning on trimming my existing nano tank and want to use the cuttings of java moss and anthbra to start another low tech nano.

I have seen allot of people here plating their plants in eco compete and wetting but not filling the tank with water for a while.

What is the reason for this?

Are there benefits?

Is there a tutorial?

Adam

wetting the soil (spraying it) stops the soil from rolling about.

so if you have slopes, wetting the soil is a good idea. It makes the soil stick together and makes planting easier.

Have you checked out Exotic Aquatic? arguably the best store in Aust.

Didn't know about exotic aquatic I'll have a look.

That's make sense, but I have seen on the forums what looks like people growing in this state for a number of weeks.

That was more what I was interested in.

DSM.. Dry Start Method. There are a lot of people that do it. There are both advantages and disadvantages and, plants that do it better than others.
