Fishwood's 1.875 Gallon Leftover Pico
It dawned on me while sifting through all my equipment from past saltwater projects last night that I have enough junk stashed in my storage bins to build another pico, so this thread launches the journal of that project. Unlike the office project, which is sucking way too much money from the wallet, the objective for this tank will be to spend as little as possible without making the aquarium look stupid.
Pictures to be added this evening, but here's a prelude.
TANK: A 6'' wide x 6'' deep x 12'' long "aquarium masters" aquarium that weighs in at a muscular 1.875 gallons.
LIGHTING: Either the picotope fixture, which I need to slip a 6700k bulb in (it has the 50/50 actinic in it now), or a big arsed desk lamp with a screw in CF.
FILTRATION: The cheapest HOB I can find.
TEMP CONTROL: The flat pad hydor mini heater (7.5 watt?)
SUBSTRATE: I'm contemplating experimenting with soils as a base layer, with aragonite sand on top. I may come up with something else entirely.
FLORA: Only the hard(i)est species
FAUNA: A baby rainbow trout
