Hey guys, I'm slightly new to the site. I've been thread lurking for about a month now, and decided to finally make a post. Anyways, my current set up is:
- Custom built aquarium stand (by me)
-Two 10 gallons, two 5.5 gallons
- Four Beamswork HiLumen Double Bright 6500k LED
- Fluval Q1 Air Pump, split to four XY Sponge Filters
-Hagen Marina 50 Watt Heater in each tank.
- Substrate: Carib Sea EcoComplete
-Conditioners: SeaChem Prime, API Stress Coat, SeaChem Flourish
-20% weekly water changes.
- Asian Plants (live)
My stock only consists of bettas. I have one VT, one CT, one Halfmoon, and one halfmoon plakat (I have a second HMPK coming from aquabid sometime next week)
HOWEVER, I ordered five Mr. Aqua 7.5 gallon tanks that should be in tomorrow. My goal is to try to make all of the tanks "seem" as though they are connected. I'm just having a hard time figuring out a way to make all five tanks flow together. I was considering doing two tanks Iwagumi style, and the others Amano. I don't know how it will look, but I'll give it a try.. Any suggestions on how I can create the illusion of one continuous tank? Also, what are a few plants that are nano tank friendly (preferably from an Asian biotope). I have cardamine lyrata in one of my 10g's currently, and love it. Would I be able to use this as a back ground plant? Also, I would love to do an ADA substrate, but I just cant justify spending that much money. I found something called Marfied Controsoil, and from what I've read, Marfied makes Aquasoil... Anybody have experience with it? Or should I just use Organic Miracle Grow, Osmocote, and a black sand of some sort?
Also, I didn't really know what I was doing when I scaped the current tanks lol. I have been watching videos/ reading threads on nano scapeing and I feel as though I could make a pretty cool aquascape, with the help of you guys!
