New 6 gallon Edge - Feedback

I just got in to planted tanks, and learned much of the information I needed to get started from these forums. I replaced the stock 21 led in the Fluval edge for the 42 LED from the 12 gallon. I am hopeful that this is enough light to grow the micro sword I have planted between the rocks. The dark corners are planted with Anubias Nana.

I'm looking for suggestions in the area of the possibility of growing a carpet of some kind down the center of the tank and across the front.

Suggestions for carpet? Is the 42 LED upgrade enough to make this a possibility in the edge? Thanks for all the help you have provided...indirectly up to this point. These boards are filled with knowledge.

Not likely, without a soil-based substrate and co2.

You also might end up with some algae issue growing on the ricks right under the most intense lighting in the middle.

Edges are tough to take high tech. They do really nicely low tech.

Thanks, I was assuming my options were probably limited for now. I think I'll just fill in with a taller anubia variety in the back left behind the rock. I'll see how the micro sword spreads with time. I'm hoping I can keep the algae at bay with excel and other plants.

Thanks! I spent quite a bit of time looking around here for ideas. I'm lucky to have a great local store with a huge selection of rocks. Ive added a few more plants, but the micro sword seems to be struggling a bit. Not sure if it's because it's recently planted, or due to light issues. I may pick up a 16" finnex led to see if that helps.
