5 gallon invert tank "start"

Had this tank running for a while housing a female betta that got uppity and jumped out.
So I bought a few amano to clean up the moss and bba on the swords. Then was given 8 rcs by the lfs for being "loyal" and sending people there.
Specs:
5gal deep blue
Fluval heater
Finnex stingray
Deep blue hob
Ecco complete and wifes fruity pebbles
Zebra stone> NOW OHKO stone
+/- 10 anubias petite
3 small amazon swords
mini xmas, fissidens, pancuraji and peacock mosses
riccia
+/- 15 rcs
5 nerites
hitchhiker rainbow fish

berried rcs and foreign fry

Couple of berried rcs so i guess that means that I need to rehome the amanos.
I guess i had a hitch hiker egg on a sword because now i have a tiny fish of some type in here...

did alot, can't tell...

Removed the amanos and added 5 more cherries and 3 tiny horned nerites. Trimmed alittle so it still looks the same. I have only been dosing once a week with flourish comp, excel and potassium.
Visited the lfs where i got the original sword to see what type of fry i might have borrowed from them. Their guess was a "rainbow" but who knows. There's atleast 20 different species in their display tank where the sword mother is now.

Any thoughts or concerns for the shrimp are greatly appreciated.

I've read about their aggression and the fact that they're opportunistic carnivores. A few of them already used their size to steal food and chase away the smaller cherries. Just in the last few hours, i have noticed a change in behavior of the rcs. They are much more active. I really want to have a thriving colony of rcs and dont want to use a breeder box on such a small tank unless absolutely necessary.

I see, I've never had that issue but I also keep my shrimp in a much larger tank, I'm sure that plays a part with aggression.

That is good to hear. I plan on setting up a larger tank for them if this one doesn't fail. This was sufficient for a small female betta for the wife but it wasn't how I envisioned my first shrimp tank. I am still pleased with the "progress" none the less.

So far, so good i guess.
I've got a lot of shrimplets running around which is good but this hitchhiker rainbowfish is getting big enough to eat the litttle guys. I tried moving him to another tank but even with a few hour acclimation, he was gasping for air. Its diy co2....? O well, ill be returning him to the lfs where he came from soon. Sad to go as ive had him from an egg on a amazon sword but he dont belong in a 5 gallon.

Red face

Picked up a little ohko stone and did a quick rescape. Looks like the 2 hour change killed off alot of rcs.... that sucks but this should be the last major rescape in awhile minus removing the swords and adding a small moss on spiderwood "forest" to the right side.

zombie RCS

Thank goodness i didnt scoop out the "dead" shrimp after the rescape because all but one have returned to the living and look fine this next morning. Hardy little bugs huh?
Edit:
Note to self: When moving shrimp, ADD AIR STONE. Even if only for a minute......
