I have dosed as much as 1 ml of Excel in a 2.5 gallon with red cherry shrimp with no problems.

do you think diluting excel with water so you can dose in larger doses wont affect the way excel is supposed to work?

so you wont have to measure like .25ml for a 3 gallon

sorry for jacking it.

It's fine, because you're diluting it when you're adding it to the tank. As long as it's the same dose in more water you're not affecting the dose.

Just be sure to use a purified source of water, such as distilled or RO/DI, in order to retain the effectiveness of the Excel.

Not to be a fuddy-duddy, but the dosing instructions are on the bottle.

I use a dropper. Since there are about 20 drops in 1ml, 10 drops would be good for 5 gallons, and 5 drops for a 2.5G tank. I usually dose triple the recommended amount, 15 drops, in my 2.5 daily. Plants, and Endlers are doing great, and algae is practically non-existant. I couldn't be more pleased.

In a 4 gal I put in .4ml every day, and 2 ml on waterchange day. No issues.
