So what's in the tank, you ask?
This weekend I purchased 3 otos and put them my 9 gallon cube. At the minute they seem happy enough. According to what I've read I should be keeping them in a group of 6? That really seems like too many for a 12"x12" footprint.
What else do you suggest I put in there to keep them company? At the moment the tank is sparsely planted; it may be a while before I get it planted the way I want. But it DOES have algae (lots) so the otos should be busy for a while. What I'd like are fish that will be active but not get frantic in the limited amount of space. And I'd like them to be easy for me to see.
It would be cool to have a pair of sparkling gouramis, eventually. The danio choprae are pretty, but I'm worried that they wouldn't be happy in my cube. I've thought about tanichthys micagemmae too. I've seen danio erythromicron in person and was disappointed- do they color up more once you get them home?
I could go on, but do I even have any options? Can I even put anything in with my otos without overfilling my cube?
I welcome anyone's thoughts. I'd love to have someone to talk to.
