2.5 Gallon shrimp tank HELP!

Im in the process of cycling my 2.5 gallon standard tank and just have a few questions. I am running the Palm Azoo HOB filter with dark fluorite substrate. I am wanting to stock this tank with some shrimp, micro crabs, and horned nerite snail. I have had planted tanks in the past and currently keeping dart frogs, so I do know some but not a ton.

1. I am looking for a light for this tank. I am not a fan of the desk lamp setup since it will not be on my desk in the near future. Was thinking maybe a Finnex FugeRay Aquarium LED 10inch. Is this over kill? Are there any other light suggestions? I am planning on moss, dwarf hair grass, rotala, dwarf anubias.

2. I have ran DIY on a 10 gallon but never a tank this small and with shrimp. Will it hurt the shrimp? Will it alter the PH? Will drift wood or indian almond leaves i use for my dart tadpoles help with the PH?

Any help will be awesome!
