Good mid plant?

Hello I'm relatively still new at fish owner ship. What started out as my daughter's getting a free gold fish from walmart soon turned into a 29 gallon tank that ended up housing tiger barbs and silver dollars not to mention 2 pelco's that got rather large (all now have appropriate sized homes) since that time I have been doing alot of reading and I am wanting to do a planted tank.
Fish will include; 8 Serpae tetras, 8 Pristella, and 5 kuhli Loaches.
Plants will include; Dwarf hair grass, flame moss (on driftwood to look like a tree),Rotala wallichii, and Telanthera
I am hoping to get some advise on a good middle plant. And any other advise please I want to make sure our little fishes stay happy and healthy so my little girls can watch and enjoy them. From reading I was planning to use eco complete. Is this ok and if so will it hurt my loaches? I have a 30-60 aqua tech filter, do I need to worry about the plants getting caught in it I'm not really sure how that works. And was going to buy a t5 96w light will this be ok for the plants? Any information helps
