LED Light for a 1 gallon hexagon?

I just came across this on ebay and was wondering if it's sufficient to grow some plants (anubias nana, java moss, marimo balls) in a little 1 gallon hex on my desk?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Rio-Mini-Sun-Aqu...QQcmdZViewItem

I bought the big Lights of America desk lamp with the "natural light" Compact Fluorescent bulb that is highly recommended here, but it's just a bit too big and bulky. If I could get away with a nice small lamp that clips on the tank that would be awesome.

I would think low light plants would be happy with that, my friend grows here anubias with a silly little 9 watt normal bulb on a seven gallon. Tough plant!

I've seen that light in person and it's really nice looking. It's quite blue, but apparently in the plant grow spectrum. Like Phoenix said, it's just enough for low light, but not anything more than that. I saw it growing many of the plants you listed in a one gallon Do!aqua vase. Looked really stylish. I'd get it if I were you.

Cool, thanks for the info guys. I actually searched a bit more and found a clip on Compact Fluorescent by Tom that comes with either a 7w, 9w or 13w bulb. I might try one of those instead.

I dont know how good the bulb is but it's probably better then the 10 LED's.

nanotuners LED light

What about this one? It's for a refugium but it might work for a 1 gal. It's $90. That's more expensive than a CF light but it's got the cool factor:

That light is not likely to grow plants unless you have a lot of ambient light available in the room. I had 3 similar sized LED lights over a 1-G tank tank with little plant growth.

If you want the "COOL" factor with an LED fixture that really works on a small tank check this LED light fixture out!
