New office = new tank! Fluval Edge 6g

http://i.imgur.com/C7ihVFT.jpg

Plant List: Java Fern, DHG, anubias, HC, various mosses
Fish: 4 Boras Microrasboras, ~15 Cherry Shrimp
Lighting: Fluval Nano Aqua Life and Plant LED
Filtration - Standard Fluval Edge AC, Zoo Med Turtle 15 Cannister
Future Plans: Not entirely sure...I'd like to add a slightly larger fish, but then all the shrimp would go bye bye. Def need to add a few more Rasboras (LFS only had 4 left when I bought them)

Thoughts?

-120g-
- Praecox Dwarf Rainbowfish, Glowlight Danio, Rummynose Tetra, Leopard Danio, Ember Tetra, Scarlet Badis, Anchor Catfish, Red Cherry Shrimp, Assassin Snail, Neirite Snail
-20G L -
- Celestial Pearl Danio, Dwarf Emerald Rasbora

I love the rasboras. Can't get your image to load. Can you post again with a better link? Would love to see it with all the additional lighting mods.

10 gallon bow-front,

Very nice. How did you mount the light? Does it fit under the hood? Is it much stronger than original Edge 6G light? I have upgraded my Edge with 42 led light from Edge 12G and the plants are much happier with it, but the lighting is still concentrated in the middle and all the plants grow towards the center of the tank.

Here are a few behind the scenes pics. definitely not the perfect setup, but I like it.

I really might have to replace this turtle clean filter though....the impeller makes a little too much noise to be sitting right by my desk all day. Constant filter drone could make me go nuts.... Does anyone else have this filter and noise problem? Any recs for a QUIET nano canister?

I managed to integrate a Finnex PX-360 into my Edge, by putting the filter on a shelf below the tank and routing the tubing into the back of the Edge. Very quiet and reliable canister. Love that thing.

One thing to beware of, because the Edge has a VERY small opening at the top, and is otherwise sealed, if you get rid of the stock HOB filter you'll need a way to oxygenate the water, because a canister filter doesn't do much in the way of oxygenation. I put a small airstone on a timer and ran it at night, and that did the trick, but I was never very happy with it. (since air bubbles always had to be chased out every morning to restore the nice clean look)

I used the Fluval Nano on my Edge, also. 99% perfect fit, but just a hair too big to fit the stock cover over it. Also maddening that the moonlight mode is hard switched and unable to be put on a timer. Note that you may have algae issues, because that light puts out very strong light immediately under it, but not as much makes it to the edges. Are you dosing co2? That might help. I ended up throwing in the towel and upgrading to a 60P, ultimately, but I loved the setup while it was running. I have a tank journal for that Edge posted somewhere on this board...

Petsmart has these on sale in my local area for $79. Been wanting one but haven't pulled the trigger. Your tank looks great!

I've realized that this light is definitely a lot brighter than anticipated, so might be moving it up a few inches. That should help with the spread to the corners anyways i'm guessing...plus it will allow me to grow some Pothos, or other riparium plant out of the back of the Edge HOB!

The Zoo-Med FINALLY got quiet, it seems that the sponge wasn't 100% tight, after a lot of fiddling around and talks with their Online Support - it's at a good level.
