1g RCS tank

Hey guys, my wife found her old corner 1g and gave it to me for a RCS tank. It's nothing fancy and pales in comparison to most of you guys. For plants I have some Java Moss and floating wisteria for now.

Lighting is the standard bulbs that come with these 1g tanks, I think a 7watt bulb. No filtration, seeded media from my 55g under the gravel. Air stone, and no heater.

I have 2 crystal reds that are berried. The shrimp move, but aren't nearly as active as I see on the forums, and always seem to be hiding.

I'm almost tempted to put them in my planted 20g, but figure my mollies and BN plecos will eat them.

I'm not happy with the layout. Any help and advice. This is my first dedicated shrimp tank.

They probably aren't moving around and hiding all the time because there is something off with your water quality and they don't feel safe. I added a very small, internal bubble heater to my shrimp tank, along with a small heater and they are as busy as can be.

I'd give them some warmth and a filter.

Temperature stays around 74 I forgot to mention. Would one of those tiny sponge filters work?

I think it's fine, it's not like you could put a ton of stuff in a 1g, but you could make this a walstad kind of tank for shrimps as you're doing very minimal for it already.

For a scape, if you can find a nice piece of wood to put the moss on in the back left corner would be nice with moss. You should plant the wisteria in the back right. If you can, plant some dwarf sag in the front and some floaters.
Good start!!!

That little blue one died today. Not sure what happened. I did a little rescape and got a Marimbo Moss ball for them. So far they're just running around it
