Ghislaine's First Dirt

I bought a large straight sided vase at Marshall's recently to experiment with dirt. This dirt may be a risk because it is the local farmer's compost product which includes cow manure. However, it's been sitting in a pile next to my driveway for at least a year and a half so the rain and weather may have mineralized it.

There's 3/4 to an inch of soil.

Topped with about 1 to 1.25 inches EcoComplete I had leftover that had dried out.

Water added.

With some duckweed from Oceangirl's RAOK.

And now planted with some of tonight's acquisitions from my LFS.

I'm not quite sure what to do with all the duckweed roots hanging around in there!
Wish me and the plants luck!
