midnights first 1

hello everyone! just thought id say first that everyone here has nice tanks! ive had tanks my whole life mostly bare to raise my fishes! . now i have some time ive been thinkin about converting a few for scapes sake =)
i have no experience with raising plants lol. feel free to shoot any advice!

9w 10k.
1.5 generic long =)
pp mini with custom carbon/bio
substrate is flora ? got it from a bud =)
rocks from the gravel scape!
-dwarf hair
-HC
-baby j fern

ok so i was wondering... is my hc to high ? lol. they were long so i only buried them that far .. will they spread good ????

also. the hair grass are like an inch deep . thats ok ??

cant really put anything big in there . but things should come to mind once the greens start growing. right now theres ghost/ opae shrimp testing the waters out =)

its high. but it will make side shoots that will grow low. but it would have been best if you planted them in diagonally so they would have been growing pretty much horizontal.

I've never seen a one point five gallon long! So cool! Looking forward to seeing this one grow out.

If you happen to find some good rocks with a lot of texture, you might want to consider using those instead. In small tanks, highly-textured, jaggedly-detailed rocks create an illusion that the tank is bigger. Gives it character as it draws the viewer's eye closer to the tank.
There's nothing wrong with the rocks you've chosen, mind you, just an idea to keep in mind before your tank take off.

Welcome to planted tanks.

you can just stick them in the gravel. but be sure to leave the rhizome outside. i usually leave the rhizome a cm above the gravel, just to be sure.

Stones with more texture would improve the scape. Or at least keep them all the same color. The green ones are nice. Will this be yeast produced CO2 or excell tank?
