that's a pretty nice looking mini set up.

Do you put it on a window for the light? Or does it hit it where it sits?

[jsut realized you said it's a 2g bowl, looked smaller to me! Ignore what I said before :P ]

Very nice. How do you keep the betta from jumping out?

My planted tank. 55 gallon fluorite substrate over soil, 64 watts of light, excel twice a week. Weekly water changes. Angelfish pair, guppies, BN plecos and otos. Redone 11/13/2012
One non planted tanks. 75 gallon.

Some betta just don't jump :].

I've only ever had one jumper in my years of betta keeping, and that was because he shared a divided tank and wanted to rough up his neighbor =P.

I'm surprised how nice it looks with no active filtration

He is a very intelligent betta. He has been with me for over an year. He never tried to jump from the bowl. After all, he had everything in that bowl. Why would he jump from it ?

The water level is that full most of the time. He gets really mad if some one comes near him. Yeah, I will keep tank clean. I will do water changes once a week. The bowl is not even heated, and no filtration. The sun light falls directly on the bowl from 11:30 to 4 P.M during summer. I have yet to test that in winter. The bowl looks lot nicer than the posted picture. I need to look for that hygro. It grows like a weed and I got sick of trimming it every week in my other tank. BTW, I had the bowl sitting on the desk with no sun light, yet dwarf sag and hygro survived for 2 months. I don't know how they did. They look miserable though.

I had another dumb betta, but it died a couple of months ago(had fin rot and it was too later before i treat him)
