roybot73. Four Gallon Finnex.

Well, the title says it all!

Set up the first week of March 2008

Gear:

Four gallon rimless Finnex tank
13w stock cf fixture with 13w Ott Lite bulb
Eco Complete
AquaClear 20
Tetra 25w preset heater

Flora:

Micranthemum umbrosum
Sagittaria Subluata
Anubias Coffeefolia
Anubias Nana "Petite"
SŁŖwassertang
Java Moss
Fissidens Fontinalis
Crypt Wenditii "Green"
Marsillea Minutia
Windelov Fern
Java Fern
Java Fern "Needle Leaf"

Fauna:

4 White Cloud Minnows
1 Otocinclus
2 Amano shrimp
1 Olive Nerite
Several pond and Ramshorn snails

It gets dosed with one "thread" full (in the cap) of Excel and Flourish every other day, or when I remember to. Half tank water change every 2 weeks, or when I remember to. No algae (knock on wood), no CO2.

All fun, all the time

Front.

3/4.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice. I got my Finnex about a month ago and I love it. I went ahead and painted the Background black and it is so much better looking IMO.

So, are you not using the filter that came with it. And if not, why? Is there something wrong with it that I dont know about.

Also where did you put the heater at. I bought one, a 50w but it was too big and I had to get another : a Hydor Mini Aquarium Heater 2-5 gallon 7.5W.

Thanks,
Rekles75

I got this tank used off of the s&s here on the forum. It came with a Red Sea nano filter which had some issues, hence the AquaClear. This tank was set up for my fiance's office and will be brought in some time this week (if we ever get some free time to move it...). I've already purchased another one to take it's place! These are great little setups!
I put the heater in the back left corner, mounted vertically.

Great looking tank! I think I am going to purchase one today. It will be my first attempt at a planted tank.

I've also wanted one of these too.... Maybe someday. I wish they still made the 8 gallon.

Thanks for sharing!

great looking tank. Great part about it is the decreased need weekly trimmings.

Congrats Chizamp!!!

So they dont make the 8 gal anymore EdTheEdge. That is a pity because these are great rimless tanks and a cheaper version to the ADA Stlye of tanks, some what.

I cant wait to see more pics. of yours Roybot73

Thanks everyone!

Chizamp, you're gonna love it, and rekles75, I was going to say the same thing regarding their being a less expensive alternative to an ADA mini-s. They're just about the same size. As I said, this one's going into my fiance's office. New one will be setup soon enough!

Well you know what to do..... Make sure you keep us posted.

One day I will stop being lazy and post mine up. I took all the pics but I guess I have to just write the journal part.

Thanks,
Rekles75
