Substrate Q

For a 10g tank, big Al's says that 1 bag of Flourite Black Sand is enough for a 2 inch thick bed.

This tank is mainly going to be a shrimp tank (although it will obviously be planted) So i'm not sure if more than 2 inches will be necessary.

your thoughts?

If it's a regualr 10g that's 20'' x 11'' x 13'' 20 lbs will give you 2'' and if it's 25 lbs it'll be 2.5''.

1 bag of Flourite was more then enough for my 10g. I personally think that anything more then 2 inches on a small tank doesn't look very good.
