1.5g cube and 2.5g AGA Journal! 56k warning

Hey hey folks. Finally getting around to posting. Just recently set up a planted nano, working on another one, too. After getting the 2.5 cycled, I added a majority of the plants (had some in there during the cycling), and a betta.

So, to start out with, let's do the 2.5.

Dwarf Hairgrass
Java Fern
Riccia on a rock
and a small Cabomba.

Hydor mini heater

Red Sea Deco Art filter for 1-3g.

26w Spiral Compact Florescent 6500k on for 10h a day.

DIY with sugar/yeast

Rocks, Rainbow Slate.

the CO2 was only added last night. No Excel is being used. I'll keep everyone updated, and any comments would be more than welcome!

This one I'm doing a bit of submersed/emersed growing, and trying that out. The cube is originally one of those silly 1.5g combo packages, but I removed the base, the crappy light, and rim. Was not difficult to do at all and you're left with a nice looking little cube.

I'm going to go for an old run-down ruin look, with plants growing through it. I'm hoping it'll turn out ok!

No CO2
Eco-Complete Substrate
26w Spiral Compact Florescent 6500k on for 10h a day. (different lamp, same bulb)

Dwarf Hairgrass
Melon Sword (small propgation from one of my bigger plants)
Small Ludwigia Respens
and some Wisteria, for the hell of it.

Anywho! Comments and suggestions welcomed. Thanks for looking! I'll keep you updated.

Gar good start. You have good substrate good light, and Co2, but you need more plants otherwise you will have algae everywhere. Start with a six hour light period ten is too much for a tank with few plants. Don't dose anything yet. I would move the hair grass behind the rocks and plant the glosso deeper into the substrate. Darker more natural rock will look better. I like your ruin look, I have the same cube. My only suggestion with the cube is stick to one theme Mayan ruin or Egyptian bird, I say Mayan ruin cuz there are no jungles In Egypt. I go to the Mayan jungles every year and the are a lot of vines there. Maybe you could find small twigs and tie some moss to resemble jungle vines.

you should spread the hairgrass more, plant like 2-3 hairs in each spot, it'll grow faster
