12 gallon Nano Cube DX

I have converted a 12 gallon NAno Cube DX from saltwater to a planted tank, I suppose it is not fully converted. What color bulbs would work best in a planted tank?
Anyone else using this tank that can give advice on anything would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have the 12g nanocube and I've used both 6500K and 10,000K bulbs from both JBJ and Coralife. Either one is fine for plants.

hello buster4900,

What kind of filter and light fixture do you currently have?

Generally somewhere 5000 - 10000k for the bulbs is what most planted tanks use as it seems to grow plants well. Actinic bulbs are not needed for plant growth.

Regards,

The tank is a nanocube, so it has an overflow where I have a handful of filterfloss the water filters through. It is cheap, I cahnge the floss every wek or so.
The light fixture is two power compact 24watt bulbs. I just purchsed 2 6500K bulbs, they seem nice.

Good choice with the 6500k's they are more natural looking the the 10000k's.

I think the nanocubes have 'wet-dry' filters. I think all you really need is filter floss and carbon in the back. Are you planning to add co2?
