What do you think of my friend's nano?

My friend studies industrial design.

This was one of his projects. It's made of maple + vacuumed made acrylic, 20cm cube.

What do you think???

I think it looks amazing.

Personally, I wouldn't have it, as I like to be able to see into my tanks...but considering the reason he made it, I like.

it does demonstrate good craftsmanship,
but design wise, it makes for a better
magazine rack, than a fish tank.

dekstr, are there more pictures somewhere? I think it's really cool.

NeverEndingNinja, I work for an ID company out here. Trust me, there's nothing I hate more than ID people designing things they don't use, and therefore know little about. Bikes, now fishtanks... There's a time and a place to try everything though. So although there's not a LOT of practicality, it is a pretty cool little piece.

Lol, maybe a new idea would be a magazine / fish rack. Imagine... a betta guarding your magazines.

Sorry, only picture he sent me, I watermarked it just in case. Thanks for input though. I don't know much about ID.

My friend keeps 2 turtles. He's mad creative and I think he's building some sort of crazy contraption with the 20 gallon tank I gave him for his turtles.

But I think my obsession is slowly rubbing off on him--hence the betta lol. I told him to build me one when he has the time, since he has free access to acrylic sheets lol.

wow.. nice.
Thing i like about this advertisement, is that it isn't one of those tiny condo like betta containers.
The size actually looks pretty good to keep a betta in.

Dekstr, you already know I like that tank, but LOL at "colossal experience" and the promo.

I realize this is just your friends and not yours.

I love making really cool think such as ships of my own creation without guidance with foamcore such as ships and also I love to make geometric origami and sketch birds and big cats (tigers, jaguars, ocelots, lions, etc.)

engineering is more for you then, then I'd be tempted to put you on the lines of product design. architecture is preliminarily buildings and how people interact with built environments.

Yup it's my friend's school project.

I think the average number of career changes for most people in one life-time is 5-6. The number is rising, so you never really know where you will end up. Most people never really end where they originally thought they would go.

Ask people in the architecture industry what it's like, what they like, don't like, why are they in that field, etc. See if it's really what you want to do.
