5 gallon saltwater planted tank

Hi all, it has been a long time since I have been on here. I am taking on a new project tank and need a little advice on lighting. I am doing a 5 gallon planted saltwater tank with some dry rock and plants. I was wondering what type of lighting I should use for this particular blend. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

You're better off posting in a reef forum. I.e reefcentral.com

Though owning a couple of reef tanks myself, I recommend 6500k bulbs that gives off 2-4 watts per gallon of water in your aquarium for most macro species. While light intensity is measured in output rather than watts, it is often difficult to determine the output of a particular light source (unless you have a par- meter), and watts are sometimes a useful secondary measure.

This is just to give a basic image. You don't need perfect parameters for macro-algae to do well when compared to fish or corals. It's still algae. Hope this helps!

A good read if you're interested-

Thanks for all of the suggestions, I ended up getting a heck of a deal on the Fluval Spec V tank 5.? gallon. The original price was $99.00 and I got it for half price. It apparently was my lucky day. I will be setting it up here soon for my first go at a pico tank. I am very excited as I have always had tanks 10 gallon all the way up to 125 gallon. I am going to be making a live rock/planted aquarium out of it. When I get going on the tank I will post a build thread. Wish me luck!! I will be planting shaving brush plant and I haven't decided on the other yet.
