Nano venders

Quick question:

Where did/do most of you buy your nano tanks? I'm looking for either a 2.5 or 5g nano, preferably something that looks nice and it made out of glass, as opposed to cheesy plastic, like penplax, eclipse and stuff like that.
Thanks.

-Ryan

On the street. Once a year in our community (im sure other ones do this too) people put anything they don't want on their front lawn by the street and its a free for all. You go around with a buddy and a truck and load it up. I picked up a 10gl, an almost new 15gl complete set up (I think it was filled up with water, then taken down) and a 5.5nano. all on one day within like half an hour.

Just my LFS. They all have a bunch of nanos, ranging from rimless bowfronts to the standard rectangle w/ frames. They're still more epxneisive than the 10 gals for some reason though. Like a 2.5 or a 5 will be about $15-$20

What if you wanted an inexpensive nano cube, does such a thing exist? I was thinking about using a glass vase from target, but it isn't that big and it's not that cheap. I'm looking for something between 5 and 8 gallons.

search some of the DIY threads here. People have made cubes out of precut window glass very inexpensively. Added bonus you can say you made it yourself.

hmm, the name Zulu comes to mind(best nano built thread ever)

Ringram-Petsmart/co sell 2.5 and 5 gallon nanos AGA styles.

Look around LFS, internet, etc.
The redsea acrylics and Azoo glass/acrylic are nice, not cheasy plastic.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll go check out Petsmart to see what they have in stock.

I have a 5 gl hex nano tank I am converting over to marine.
It was great as a small puffer tank, built in filtration and lighting work great.
Then the wife wanted to go big, so now I have a 30gl and 35gl tanks in the front room, and another 30gl salt in the bedroom, along with a 10gl puffer tank.
The 5gl hex was only $50 with everything from WalMart. Its great for small areas if you only want to keep a couple fish or so. I would recommend getting the hex gravel filter online from PetCo, they are around $16 which includes shipping.
Good luck,

Maximo

I got lucky and scored one of the finnex 8gl's off ebay a while back. There doesn't seem to be any around at the moment but I'm sure there are some out there waiting to show themselves. They also make/made a 4gl.
