Best small filter for a 5G

Hey folks,

Trying to assess the market leaders for nano filters. Though I personally prefer small canisters (like the Zoo Med 501), I'm setting up a tank for a friend on a budget and I think an HOB would be best so as not to have to worry about pipes and such.

The tank will be mostly planted with a very little bioload from fauna.

The only one that comes to my mind is the Azoo palm filter.

Thanks!

I recently got a few Deep Blue Professional nano HOBs at my LFS for 7$. They work really well, I have them on 8 liter cubes that are lightly planted.

Red Sea Nano Filter is a tiny HOB that works well for me.

And if you want to look at internals as well, I like my littler Hagen Elite Underwater Mini Filter.

But if you can find one for $7 like ShortGirl, I'd go for that...

I have Azoo Palm filters myself. But in all honesty, for not much more with loads of more capacity for filter media customization, I'd get an AC 20.

The Palm is good but doesn't have much room for media and you need to clean it often.

Roger that, thanks for all the replies. I'll check out the AquaClear 20. The Azoo Palm is nice and tempting because of it's small profile but maybe a little impractical for a 5G.
