Starting a 7gallon planted tank! Newbie Need a little advice!!

Hey guys... I am planning to start a 7gallon bowfront planted tank with maybe 6-8 fishes. I was wondering do I need a air stone bubble/oxygen? I see some tanks without using air stone bubble/oxygen.

Tanks specs

7 gallon bowfront
Eco complete
Zoomed 501 or finnex 360 not sure which of the two!
Seachem excel
No co2

Thanks guys any tips will be great. Kenneth

You don't need an air stone...just some good water movement and lots of plants..

You should also consider the smaller ehiem canisters if you have room under the tank. The zoo med and finnex have to be level with the tank to work.

Looks some someone is having a nice Christmas!

I'd keep the Finnex and return the 501 then. The Finnex is larger and easier to clean because of the tray system over the 501's two chambers. I use the 501 on my 7g cube.

What about a heater? I guess the first question to ask is what plants/fish/inverts are you planning to keep, and whats room temp in area the tank will be?

Due to photobuckets new bs cost for use of images on forums I have deleted all photobucket accounts. I apologize if you enjoyed or found my photos helpful.

On my 7 gallon rimless, I'm using the new-ish Finnex Fuge Ray R. It's a clip on LED with red diodes. It will put me at a good medium light.
