Tetra 3 gallon

Hey guys, I recently purchased the tetra 3 gallon LED kit. It arrived today and im pretty happy with how it looks. I was planning on doing a seiryu stone aquascape and just had a couple questions.

1. The kit comes with a small LED fixture that has 9 lights and is about a foot from the bottom of the tank. Could I do a carpet of plants on the bottom (UG maybe) or would I be better off sticking with low light plants.

2. I was mainly planning on keeping a betta and some shrimp in this tank. Since im also adding seiryu stones I was wondering if the ph would be too high.

Thanks for looking,

What kind of substrate will you be using? I know Aquasoil lowers the pH which could balance it out. I would keep an eye out on the pH either way but I do know there are betta owners who also scape with seriyu stones with no problems.

I would think low light plants. I have a tetra 3G crescent and the original 16 led fixture wasn't good for much more than anubias. Swapped it for a Fugeray and there was a huge difference in brightness.
