I used one of these for a 2.5 gallon minibow pico reef with great results:

Get the nimble!

I have a nimble and it is awsome, great on my 8g glass tank as well as on my 2.5g acrylic tank. you can't go wrong with it and the profile is supper slim! Hardly touches the plants close to the glass. You'll love it!

I also use a Nimble Nano in my glass 2.5 and 10.

Ever tried the lid of milk/water gallon size bottles? For small tanks they work pretty well. They dont scratch the glass and they also do this suction thing where the algae gets stuck on the underside of the bottle lid. use the outside side out (the flat part) and the inside the bottle side on the glass. Requires a lot of effort for GSA. Works on everything else though.

On holiday.

I've been using a credit card, but I'm tired of doing it like that because I have to remove the light to fit my hand in the tank and it stirs up everything a lot.
