First actual tank planned for plants, so will see how this goes. Been planning it for about a year, buying pieces slowly. Bought a Catalina fixture, but the wife didn't approve of its appearance. Since it is going in the living room, it has to fit in
Eventually settled on an old end table we found at a garage sale for a stand. Refinished it and added a few holes so I could mount equipment and the power strip inside.
Ended up modifying a floor lamp by removing the base and attaching it to the back of the stand with pipe clamps. The pipe clamps allow me to adjust the height of the lamp. Used a Phillips PAR38 bulb, from Home Depot, and basically tried to emulate DogFish's 40 Breeder lighting setup. The light shimmers with the ripples from the HOB and the light.
Used MGOPM with a sand cap and some small gravel mixed in for contrast.

I'm planning on moving and resetting my 26 Gal Bowfront next month, at which time a few of these plants will make it into the 26. Right now I think it will get too crowded if I let it grow out as is.
