I have 18 watts via a coralife fixture over my two. Grows just about anything given sufficient CO2 and nutrients.

If I could harness the power of the sun, I'd focus it on my plants and watch them grow.

I have 36 watts over my 2.5g. It's a coralife aqua light that sits 3" above the top of the tank.

I also use a Coralife Mini Aqualight...and make some nifty mounts for it.

Can grow just about anything with a few grains of ferts and, a few drops of a micro, and a few drops of excel.

I had to do some creative building on mine as well. When I put the legs on mine, it was to wide and long. So I cut 1/4 - 1/2" off the legs where touched in the center. I found a few sqare strips of 3/8" wood and cut it to lenght and painted them black. Then I added a few pieces of velcro to the legs and wood and put it on the top of the tank. I put a velcro stip on the rim of the tank and the wood to prevent the light from sliding off the tank. It works great. Not the nicest to look at, but it works.
