How Much Light....?

I have a "High-Tech" 2-2.5gal. Nano that I setup for Red Ramshorn snails. It has a 2 quart DIY Canister Filter and DIY C02.

Walmart sells "Sunlight" Spiral CF, or I can pick up a MH desklamp, etc, etc. The Options are Open....

Lighting changes from 10gal. and below--from what I understand. So, how many watts am I looking for on the Low-end and the High-end....? I may end up going low-tech with this....

Thanx!

I'd use a Walmart 10W 6500K screw-in, they are not spirals but have two U loops, they run a tad cooler than the spiral ones with higher wattages.

Thanx. I just came back from walmart and picked up a light while I was there:

The Brushed Nickle Clamp-on type Desk Lamp and a 15 watt (=60) "Sunlight" (6500k) CF with the Loops that You refer to.....

Close Enough! I feel better about it....

Thanx for the Help!

Yay! Be sure to let me know how those snails I sent you are doing! Do you have any pictures?

Yep! Plenty of them are old enough to produce....

Now I just have to figure out how to get all the brown ones out of my other tanks--and the eggs--and keep them out with new plant purchases!

The Impossible!

I know!! I bought some plants from someone a while back and I thought I removed all the brown ones that came in with them, but I guess there were some tiny babies. I see one every once and and while and have to remove it. Thank goodness I catch them before they can reproduce, otherwise bye bye red snailies.

For your other tanks, many recruit the help of a bunch of loaches and eradicate them all??
