I have been lurking on TPT for a while now, and I thought that I would share a pic of my 6 gallon GLA tank. The tank is filthy I know, I just recently added the 2 otto cats, and hopefully they will do a job on the algae.
I just recently kicked a long bacterial bloom, which caused cloudy water for about 3 weeks.
Originally, I had the hairgrass transition to the sand, showing off the driftwood, but I recently added 2 stems of blyxa and decided to plant them in the sand substrate. The sand is CaribSea Sunset Gold, which they claim is suitable for plants, but we will see. They seem to be doing ok after a couple of weeks.
Yes, I know I need an inline heater and some lily pipes. That is next on the list.
The GLA tank is awesome, very clear and the silicone is perfect. I am lucky that I snatched one of these up before they sold out. Hopefully, GLA will get their stuff together soon, because I am itching for a 12 gallon long.
I have used both the Eheim and the Fluval canister filters now, and I think that I do like the Fluval better. Much easier to service and maintain. Amazon was offering the 105 for about $70, and the only difference between the 06 and 05 models, according to my research, was slightly increased flow, which for a 6 gallon tank, isnít that big of a deal anyway.
