Question CO2 levels in a 6g nano?

I've got a 6g nanocube setup with Hygro Difformis, Bacopa Carolinia, and some Dwarf Hygro. I also have a petite anubias nana tied to driftwood via fishing line.

I dose about 3/4 capful (3-5mL) of Seachem Excel Sunday (water change day), Tuesday, and Thursday.

The filter is built into the tank (JBJ Nanocube) and I have it pointed away from the surface of the water.

I guess my question is do I need to point the filter outflow towards the surface for added agitation? Or is the Excel doing its job where I will need to instead keep the outflow pointed downwards?
